How to Propagate Crassula Ovata
Gollum Jade can be propagated by two methods stem and leaf cuttings.
Propagate by stem cuttings
To propagate Gollum jade by stem cutting, cut a tube from the base with the help of sharp scissors or sterile knife.
After cutting the tube, callous over for a day or two. Then place the tube on a well-draining soil. Better to place the cut section a little bit in the soil.
Propagate by Leaf cuttings
When cutting a leaf for propagation, try to gently cut as a whole. I.e. no part of the leaf should be left on the stem. This is to increase the chances of successful propagation.
After collecting leaves, callous over for a day or two. Then place the leaves on a well-draining soil. Like the stem cutting, place the cut section of the leaf in the soil.
Propagating by leaf-cutting is not recommended for beginners as it is a little difficult. So they should stick with stem cuttings.
